What’s on the table? – Argo Tea

One of our readers requested and recommended for us to check out this cafe so without hesitation we both went there a few weeks ago to see what’s so special about it.

We went to Argo Tea located at Landmark Mall. They also have another branch at Hamad International Airport and soon to open at Gulf Mall (source: Argo Tea website).

Let’s first discuss the interiors, furniture were mostly in a light green hue which gave the place a fresh and clean look. Despite its mall location, the place offered a warm feel to it. They had huge LED screens that were hanged from the ceiling and it displayed all the products that you can order from the store. All drinks that they offered were tea-based but coffee is also served. The drinks listed on the menu were accompanied with the number of calories per size for each drink. So if you are a health nut, then the calorie count would help you decide on what drink to take.

As for the staff, they were really approachable and friendly. Our Tea Host Jam was especially attentive and really took time to explain their best sellers. He suggested I (Karen) order the Iced Red Velvet since I wanted a semi sweet drink and Allyson went for the Iced Maté Laté. By the way, you also have the option to order “bubbles” (some sort of coconut jelly) to be mixed in your drink.

Service was quick and drinks were served to us directly at our seats. It wasn’t like Starbucks other coffee shops where your name will be called out and you have to pick up your drink at the counter.

So what can we say about their tea based drinks?

For me (Karen), I liked the Iced Red Velvet so much and in a really bold statement, I will say that if I could marry a drink which I should have for the rest of my life, then it would be this. It wasn’t  very sweet and the combination of flavors were really good. You can still taste the tea mixed in and the red velvet flavor doesn’t overpower the whole drink or your taste buds.

One of their best-sellers is the Maté Laté. I’m (Allyson) not a tea person but whenever I have it, I make sure that it’s mixed with milk. The moment I tasted it, I almost had a change of heart. I loved how smooth and creamy it was! An almond-flavored tea with milk. Almond + milk = perfect combination! I also like the fact that it’s not too sweet, the way I want it.

Based on our overall experience in terms of the products and service we give this place a 4 Stars (4 / 5). If you are not too bothered with the mall location then we suggest you pay this cafe a visit.

Ciao!
