What’s on the Table? – Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar

For some there’s therapy, for me there’s chocolate.

After a great meal at Pampano, I decided to drop by a nearby restaurant to have some coffee and dessert. I really can’t help myself not having sweets after a decent meal haha! The best place to have those when you’re at The Pearl is definitely at Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar.

Some of you might have heard about CBNY since it was originated in New York and eventually branched out in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Melbourne and now in Doha. The brainchild of a native New Yorker named Alison Nelson, a chocolate lover herself.

As you walk inside, you can clearly see how bright and modern the furnishings are. You’ll feel like a kid who just walked into a candy store.

However, we chose to stay outside this time in order to enjoy the view of the surrounding area and well lit edifices. Good thing they have outdoor gas heaters.

I got myself a Hot White Mocha paired with a Red Velvet cake, while my friend ordered a Hot Cappuccino. The Red Velvet was soft and moist with the right amount of sweetness.

They have a wide range of menu, meaning they don’t just serve desserts and light savory bites but they also offer main dishes. Prices are not that expensive. It’s a budget-friendly restaurant that would satisfy every kid and adults’ palate.

It’s hard not to acknowledge their staff since they were really hospitable and friendly, most especially the store manager Nina who even allowed me to take pictures with them.

Ohh, and one more thing, I was lucky to have a complimentary Hot Chocolate which boasts a rich cocoa taste that came with a magnificent chocolate art. It was exemplary for me since it’s not too sweet, just the way I like it. It was made and served by Max, their creative barista himself. Kudos!

Can you guess the art design?

I give CBNY a (5 / 5) simply because I enjoyed every bit of my visit. From the cheerful and excellent service of the staff, the taste and quality of the coffee and cake, the friendly and inviting ambiance and last but not the least their value for money. If you’re on a diet, this is not the place to be because I’m warning you it will literally make you salivate and probably be tempted to have a taste of everything. 🙂
