Denim is definitely a staple that everyone must have in their closets whether or not you are a “fashionista”. But last year denim on denim became one of the huge trends which was quickly adapted by almost everybody. This trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down as it was still spotted on the runways of fashion week as part of the designers’ spring collection for this year.
I (Karen) unfortunately was not brave enough to try this trend out the previous year so I coerced Allyson to accompany me and don this look with our own spin on it a few weeks ago. We all know denim can be dressed up but we both went for the casual route which seems more practical since we were just heading out to run some errands that day.
As seen below, I was only rocking one hue which is BLUE (my favorite color) but I still wanted that pop of color hence my cobalt blue suede shoes. Monochromatic is so unlike me, so let me know what you think of this look at the comments section below. This is such a deviation from what I usually gravitate to.
Karen Wears: Chambray – LTB; Belt & Watch – Aigner; Dark Wash Jeans & Cobalt Blue Heels – H&M; Bangle – Charriol; Ring – iAm; Bag – Vintage Christian Dior
Allyson slipped into a similar look but her top was sleeveless which made her ensemble much more grounded. She also went for the color black in terms of her accessories. Her dark wash jeans contrasted her shirt which instantly became the main star of this outfit due to the lighter hue.
Allyson Wears: Top – Garage; Dark Wash Jeans – Lee; Necklace – H&M; Bangles – Pandora; Watch – Swatch; Ring – Random; Bag – Charles & Keith; Black Heels – Zara
