Sweet Escape: Grand Hyatt Doha

Yet another hotel in Qatar that has amazed and gone beyond any of our expectations is the marvelous plus very luxurious five star hotel “Grand Hyatt Doha“.

We agreed that this hotel was the best option for our much needed break thus we booked a sea view room last weekend to check-in and just get away from the problems that occupied our mind (albeit it was for an overnight stay only).

We got to the hotel at 3PM sharp (just in time for our check in) where the reception desk was quite in a calm state even though they had a few number of guests checking in. When it was our time to be assisted, the agent searched for our booking on the system then informed us to our surprise that we were upgraded to a “Club Room”. Both of us looked at each other after the news of our upgrade and were so shocked in addition to being delighted that this happened to us of all people. We pushed our luck and tried to request for late check-out the next day which our accommodating agent gladly confirmed that he could provide us with a 4PM check out time instead of the usual 12PM.

Everything was going so well that we didn’t want to jinx our good fortune (even our key cards were working too, which if you’ve read our previous hotel posts, we always have bad luck with these) so we just went straight to our room. The bellhop brought up all our luggage and gave us a quick overview of the room. It was truly remarkable since it had such a spacious bathroom and balcony.

We didn’t do much when we got there except take a few outfit shots for our upcoming planned fashion posts, record a video for our YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/c/lifewithkarlly) and just lounge plus get ready for dinner at “Isaan” (which you can read about HERE).

We also found out two days before our check-in date that the rapper Lil Jon was set to perform at A1 Nights on the same date of our check-in which was great for us due to the fact that we didn’t have to go out of the hotel to witness it.

We had dinner by 7.30PM and finished by 9.30PM then proceeded to get ready for the party at A1 Nights. We got there by 10.30PM and by midnight, Lil Jon stepped on the stage for his performance. The crowd was hyped and the place got crazy really quick! We had fun, almost lost our voices and really enjoyed (read about it HERE)!

The next day we had no choice but to suffer the consequences of staying out late and get up early for buffet breakfast (from 7AM to 11AM) at their restaurant “The Grill”. We managed to go at 9AM where the place was already packed with people. It was busy plus we noticed that the customers were mostly families. The spread was quite a lot with different breads, fruits, ham & cheeses, cereals and a few meat products to munch on. They also have an egg station where you can ask for scrambled eggs, poached eggs, etc. depending on your preference. Thirst quenchers such as coffee, tea, water & other sorts of fresh juices were served as well.

After a filling and indulgent breakfast, we made our way back to our room and chatted a bit then tried to catch a few more hours of sleep before checking out. We woke up at 2.30PM and with the little time we still had at the hotel we went ahead and ordered room service. It was a truly quick room service. The food we ordered arrived at our door even before hitting 20 minutes! Other hotels we stayed at required at least 45 minutes to an hour to serve our orders. In short, we were impressed! We got fish & chips with a slice of strawberry cheesecake (which we split between ourselves) for our light meal before checking-out.

Alas the short staycation had to end at 4PM that day (it made us horribly sad) and return to the reality called “life”.

Service & staff were highly commendable with the efficiency they displayed throughout our stay. The warm welcome and friendly faces will surely be missed! A perfect score of 5 Stars (5 / 5) for this hotel should not be a surprise to anyone as our stay was definitely one for the books! We hope to check-in again another day but hopefully some time soon.

Again, we want to extend our gratitude to the Grand Hyatt and its staff for an unforgettable weekend stay!
