Product Review: L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base + Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation

Recently I have been catching myself watching more and more YouTube videos particularly videos pertaining to make-up and beauty. I follow and have subscribed to a bunch of channels handled by beauty gurus and since then I must say that I have picked up quite a lot in terms of make-up application, the correct tools to use, and products worth the actual money.

In the previous videos I have watched lately, the most noticeable topic was the Infallible Mattifying line by L’Oreal Paris which claims long wearing no budge make-up (in comparison to other affordable make-up brands). Beauty gurus love this line because it performs really well.

I have combination to oily skin so I thought it was worth a try and since I chanced upon the primer in addition to the foundation during my last trip to Carrefour, I decided to pick up both of it to see for myself if it will really keep me matte and if the foundation will last long on my skin.

The packaging for both products are very sleek and as you can see not bulky at all which makes it so travel friendly. It has a pointed tip on the end and you just have to squeeze the tube to get the product out. Consistency wise, both products are not runny or watery at all. Both have 35ml of product in each tube and costs QAR 89/- each.

DSC06389I’ve been using both for months now and I must say I am much more impressed with the primer than the foundation. For a smooth application, I use a beauty blender for the foundation because I find it does distribute the product evenly and it’s very easy to work with. For the primer, I just use my fingers and apply it like a moisturizer. Just a few drops of the primer works wonders.

I found that the primer does indeed provide the longevity of my make-up and will keep my face matte for a good 8 to 10 hours of wear. The foundation on the other hand breaks apart or becomes patchy after 7 to 9 hours despite it’s statement of keeping your face matte for 24 hours.

My sister and Allyson were also impressed with the primer and they both bought their own after trying mine because they noticed the same thing, their make-up lasts longer.

Between the two, I highly recommend you guys get the primer instead since it is really affordable and effective plus you can wear it with other foundations that you prefer. It will still perform the same even if it’s not matched with the Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation trust me, I’ve tried it). Just a warning though, I’m not sure how it will perform for other skin types but for combination to oily, it will do wonders.

Hope you guys enjoyed this review, stay tuned for more 🙂
