Though Longhorn Steakhouse was opened late last year, it was only this month that I decided to pay them a visit. My colleague from work has always encouraged me to try them out due to her great experience in addition to liking their food so much, especially the steaks.
To tell you the truth, I am not a huge fan of steaks since the taste of red meat doesn’t agree with my taste buds (I know what you’re thinking right now and I agree that I am missing out). Anyway, I was so relieved to find out that Longhorn doesn’t necessarily just serve steaks but they do have chicken & seafood items although the selection is very limited.
Moving on, I just want to say that the interiors are truly “Americana” and will remind you of the wild, wild, west. I do kinda love it and there was a particular light fixture that really caught my attention. Walls are adorned with framed belt buckles and cowboy boots are displayed as well.
So let’s talk about their food. My company for that night and I skipped out on the steaks so yeah, unfortunately I won’t be providing any feedback / review about it. Let’s just talk about the food we ordered which we started off with a salad called “Grilled Chicken & Strawberry Salad”. For main I had the “Redrock Grilled Shrimp” which is served over rice plus garlic butter sauce as dipping. It came with a side dish too so I opted for the mashed potato. We also ordered the “Grilled Trout topped with Shrimp & Lobster”.
While waiting for our food, we were served with complimentary bread and 2 small bowls of Caesar salads.
Service was relatively quick and before we knew it, the food we ordered was all on the table.
We all agreed that the Grilled Chicken & Strawberry salad was the star of the show! The salad did not only have strawberries but it had grapes, oranges, pecans, finely shredded red onions & feta cheese which was generously drizzled with a raspberry vinaigrette. The blending of all the flavors was really like fireworks in our mouths! It was just bursting with all types of juices from the fruits and was not sour at all. It’s a perfect salad for the summer because of it’s freshness. The Redrock Grilled Shrimp was just average in flavor but the mashed potato that it came with was divine. It was soft and creamy plus it had chunks which I liked since I don’t prefer for my mashed potato to be overly mashed (if that makes sense). I like some bite! The Grilled Trout on its own was a bit bland but when you eat it with all the other ingredients (shrimp, lobster, beef bacon & corn) it is truly stellar. I love how all the flavors were blended really well.
So my final verdict for this outlet is (4 / 5) because of the Redrock Shrimp (a bit lackluster) plus the aroma of the food lingers in the restaurant therefore when you leave, the smell of it has clinged on to your clothes too.
Special mention to Abdulrahman (our server for that evening) who was really attentive and warm because he always had a smile on.
