What’s on the Table? – Choices Restaurant

We are formally warning you that this post will make you feel hungry and totally make you involuntarily drool all over yourself! Was that a bit much? Well it’s true since we are talking about Choices Restaurant which is located at Oryx Rotana Doha.

The name of the restaurant speaks for itself and accurately reflects the outlet’s numerous plus vast selection of food offerings. We were there a few weeks ago to experience their buffets but do keep in mind that this was our first time trying out the restaurant though we’ve heard such great feedback about them previously from our friends. We had the lunch buffet on a Friday, which costs around QAR 270 (without drinks) per person if we’re not mistaken, and it was evident that the place was really busy so take this advance notice from us and book a table ahead of time if you plan to drop by this coming weekend! There were so much food on display and as if that was not enough, they even had live cooking stations! It was very hard for us to try everything because we became so full in a couple of minutes. Sadly, our tummies wouldn’t permit us to indulge in anything else.

We definitely noticed that the dessert tables were situated outside of the restaurant (but still near the entrance) due to the immense amount of food! They didn’t have enough space within the outlet. That just goes to show you that we are not exaggerating. In the end, we had to give up the battle between our tummies and the buffet (which obviously won).

Also, not to forget they offered a live band as a form of entertainment for their guests.

The same thing could be said about their breakfast buffet  the next day (Saturday). We arrived pretty early which was good because the outlet was quite calm, the exact opposite of the previous day. There was still an abundance of food to choose from which is proof that they don’t just provide a big spread during Fridays.

Manakish & egg cooking stations were available too. We believe this was the first time we ever saw a Manakish cooking station in a breakfast buffet set-up.

The only flaw we noticed is that the outlet was near the pool area which was accessible by an unlocked door so whenever a guest comes in or out of the door it is possible and understandable that some rude flies made it past security and made their way into the outlet which we hope management can work on. In any case, this outlet deserves a 4.5 Stars (4.5 / 5) due to the fact that it offers such a wide range of food variety plus the service is exceptional (big thumbs up to Yan who was our server at the time).

That weekend was just filled of stuffing our faces with food! It was great, hahaha! Because of this, we now have to work on our fitness 🙁
