Lookbook: A Wave of Blue

If you’re reading this, I first want to apologize in case you find the post very uninteresting but I hope you pardon me since it is my first time to come up with a “lookbook” (feeling so fashionista as I write this, hahaha). I want to put this out there, I am in no way claiming that I am a fashionista or have a body of a Victoria’s Secret model to walk a runway but I do honestly enjoy getting ready / dressing myself up in clothes which I feel suit my body type. Now with that said, I hope you don’t throw stones at me if you find the looks here very toned down. My style is quite simple / very down to earth but I do love jazzing up an outfit by accessorizing.

To be frank, It was quite hard for me to come up with a particular theme for this lookbook but inspiration suddenly hit me when I noticed that most of my latest purchases (may it be from a store or from an online shop) are in the color BLUE. So yah, you guessed it! Basically, the color BLUE suddenly became my theme. I decided to come up with 3 looks for you showcasing the said color.

The “CASUAL” / running all sorts of errands look:

I went with the classic stripes for this ensemble since it’s very easy to pair with anything plus slip-ons because you have to think about your comfort when you’re constantly walking around. If you’re a bit on the heavy side, reach for shirts that have vertical stripes or go for bigger horizontal stripes since it assists in making you look a bit slimmer than usual. I also rolled up my sleeves for a relaxed vibe.

Turquoise Earrings - i.am; Blue Striped Shirt - Old Navy; Snakeskin Belt - Suiteblanco; White Watch - Casio; Blue Bracelet - from our Turkey travels; White Backpack - Mango; Denim Jeans - American Eagle Outfitters; Slip-ons - Call it Spring

The “SMART CASUAL” / great for a date night look:

Jumpsuits are great due to the fact that it’s a one piece which you can just throw on without the need for you to worry about pairing a top with a skirt or trousers. Wear it with heels to instantly give you a chic look that is perfect for a girl’s night out or a date night with a significant other.

The “DRESSY” / attending semi-formal events / activities look:

Another clothing item that’s a no-brainer, especially when you have run out of style / fashion ideas, is putting on a dress. It is definitely a safe answer if your’e attending a more semi-formal type of event / activity. In my opinion, it is better to don a dress that is in a single color and just add a few bold accessories for a sophisticated look.
