We firmly believe that fashion rules are meant to be broken, don’t you agree? One should dress in whatever s/he feels comfortable in, feels sexy in, feels confident in, feels happy in and ultimately whatever s/he WANTS to wear. No one should ever feel the need to explain themselves or their thought process when coming up with an outfit to wear since everyone has the freedom to express themselves.
With that said we decided to step out of our boxes for this post to remind ourselves not to stick with clothing pieces that we feel safe in but challenge ourselves to experiment since this is what fashion is all about.
Fashion is about something that comes from within you. – Ralph Lauren
I (Karen) always try to avoid wearing any loud colors or printed items when picking my bottoms (i.e. pants / skirts) due to my admittedly plump legs. I don’t want the attention to be focused on them hence my considerable sized collection of dark wash jeans & black pants (since dark hues make my legs look slimmer). This time around I saw this floral printed pants at the store and I thought to myself “Why not? Life is too short to stick to the same old stuff I have.” so I picked them up but I definitely second guessed myself after trying them again at home because my mom really loathed the design (she couldn’t stop telling me her honest opinion about it). Despite that, I felt really confident in them and I felt I could rock them so I wore them out to the Michael Kors event we attended last week (read it HERE).

Allyson’s style is very laid back so it should not be a surprise to know that most of her tops either have a round, scoop or “V” neckline therefore making this dress unlike any other in her wardrobe due to its mock turtleneck design. She has never tried anything like this before and since the dress has a grid pattern it definitely modernized the look. The grid pattern is surprisingly still in trend despite it being initially introduced to the masses two years ago.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank Jeffrey from the BoConcept store located at the Lagoona Mall for being so accommodating and allowing us to take photos in their shop. All the furniture visible in Allyson’s photos are from them. For more information you can visit their website by clicking HERE.
