Sweet Escape: Crowne Plaza Doha

It has been ages since our last hotel weekend stay hence I felt the need to book an overnight stay with a friend a few weeks back and report to you my overall experience.

I wasn’t sure at first which hotel to stay at but after reading some comments plus due to the economical price for the dates I was checking in, I went ahead and booked a Deluxe King Room at Crowne Plaza Doha – Business Park. It wasn’t actually my first time visiting the hotel but it was indeed my first time staying with them.

The room was a bit small but that didn’t necessarily bother me since the space was enough for my friend & I to share and the bed was truly plush & comfortable to lie on which you know is always a good thing! COMFORT is always key my friends. 🙂

Now what I actually found quite unique in the room was the window that separated the bedroom from the bathroom but do not worry if you’re shy because it has electric blinds as a cover. In the bathroom, the bathtub & the shower were together; which I am not a fan of since I want a separate tub plus separate shower area from each other but of course I am sure not everyone shares the same sentiment as myself.

The room was equipped with a mini bar and in-room dining was available as well but the best part was that we could also order alcoholic drinks and they’d bring it directly to our room. So if you’re going to check-in at Crowne Plaza & feel lazy to go to their bar / lounge, Misturado, then this option is great for you! They got you covered!

Closet space was limited though and wasn’t able to accommodate our clothes (or maybe we just packed too much?). Inside the closet you can see that an iron, ironing board plus safe were available for use, however, I felt that these items just took too much of the space.

After checking out the room itself, I instinctively knew that I had to see the view outside our window. Truthfully, the view we had wasn’t too pleasing to the eye but I wasn’t expecting much since the fact of the matter is that the hotel is situated far from the sea / Corniche which means no sea view available.

To sum it up, I would say that the hotel is a 4 Stars (4 / 5) in my books since the staff were friendly and room service was honestly quick! All the food and drinks we ordered were always delivered to our room under the 30 minute mark. The case of the sheets is the main reason why they don’t get a perfect score because of a very minor stain I saw on the white quilt we had.

I hope their housekeeping department can improve on this. I truly expected more from the hotel especially when it boils down to the cleanliness criteria.
