Doha’s nightlife has been progressing these past few years – from pubs, clubs to lounges and bars, everyone’s stepping up their game.
The Backyard, for one, has returned and opened its doors to the acoustic aficionados, boasting their one-of-a-kind concept, adamant to set a new feel to the entertainment scene. Situated at the back end of Sheraton, this rustic venue adorned with fairy lights, comfortable beanbag seating and the taste of live acoustic music complete the right mix to set you at the perfect mood and keep you cozy throughout the night. In addition, its laidback ambiance provides an utterly chilled out Friday atmosphere which have won the hearts of Doha night-lifers.
One of Doha’s eminent bands, Music Vending Machine (MVM), warmed up the night and opened for the English singer/songwriter, Hannah Trigwell. She set foot on The Backyard stage and serenaded us at the grand opening, armed with her guitar and soothing voice.
Hannah has been touring across the UK as well as some parts of Europe these past months and eventually opened her way here in Qatar, the first of the Middle East, where she debuted exclusively at The Backyard last Friday night. By putting her own twist on popular songs like “Hallelujah”, “Iris” and “Stay with Me”, thereis no doubt why Hannah garnered more than 100 million views on YouTube with over 382,000 followers up to date. She has also made her mark in the music industry by collaborating with the Florida-based rock band, Boyce Avenue.
Given the remarkable experience and performance throughout, The Backyard is undeniably one of the hottest nightspots you should not miss in Doha; a perfect place to cap off the busy week. Anticipate more great performances by Music Vending Machine and other local bands such as Keyali & Co., Doha Band, and Bluestone plus international artists’ alike all the way through this season so be prepared to be astounded by pure good music popping up every Friday at the Sheraton Hotel Doha.
