What’s on the Table? – The Manhattan Fish Market

Ahoy seafood lovers, a new outlet has emerged in the city! We learned about “The Manhattan Fish Market” because we received an invitation to attend their grand opening a few months back that we unfortunately missed due to prior commitments. However, this made such a great excuse for us to check out this outlet that offers mainly seafood!

Located at the Mezzanine floor in the so called “Burger / Pineapple” building near the Westin Hotel, it has garnered much attention due to the fact that it provides its patrons with appetizing food at reasonable prices (which we can vouch for, you’ll know more later on).

We went without eating any lunch in the evening of 30th March making our tummies shamelessly growl while we were seated at our table. Our server, as luck would have it, was named Karen as well and she was quite a delight to interact with. She was pleasant and offered some suggestions of what to try from their menu but we noticed that they had “sharing platters” available at the last page of the menu so we opted to try this out specifically the platter called FRIED GIANT. This was comprised of crunchy prawns, crispy fish fingers, cherry snapper fillets, battered onion strips and calamari all resting on a platter full of French fries that was accompanied with 4 different dips (Cajun Honey Mustard, Smoky Chipotle, Tartar & Onion Glory) to choose from. We also had the Sizzling Banana Fritters with Ice-cream for dessert to officially end our dinner.

Would we recommend it? Heck yeah! Of course we would! What won us over is the fact that although we placed an order for a platter which is basically fried everything, each seafood tasted differently from the other even without dipping these in the sauces. The dessert wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet but definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. Service was quick too despite the reality of us visiting on a busy night. Prices were affordable if you can believe it and for our total bill we only paid QAR 187 for a full platter, dessert plus 2 specialty drinks. You can’t beat that price if you ask us. Go somewhere else and surely, you will end up paying more. We give them a rating of 5 Stars (5 / 5).
