Did the title surprise you? You might be thinking why would we need to create a bucketlist of the things we want to do here especially after being in Qatar for a combined total of 15 years. You would think that by this time we’ve done & seen it all but on the contrary, we actually haven’t!
This has now inspired us to come up with our own short bucketlist of what we hope to check off soon enough and a little something we prepared to encourage others like us to explore more of the country and not just sit around waiting for the time to pass.
Escape in 60 minutes!
Adventure Rooms Qatar guarantees a thrilling escape game that you have to complete in just 60 minutes by using logic & searching for clues to help you find your way out of a mysterious room. A truly different way to challenge you and your friends!
Shoot a Few Rounds
We do not advocate any form of violence hence Lusail Shooting Club seems like the best place to go to if you wish to experience holding and firing a pistol. Priced at QAR 100/- per round (25 shots) per person, this is another idea you can explore during the summer 🙂
Explore Qatar’s Past, Present & Future Aspirations
We have only recently found out that the Msheireb Enrichment Centre, which is currently docked at the picturesque Doha Corniche, is actually an educational portal that outlines Qatar’s past, present and ambitious plans for the future while housing some of Qatar’s historic artifacts, antique work tools and information on Qatar’s extraordinary growth. Best part is that it is open and free for the public from Saturday to Thursday.
Watch a Camel Race
Although we didn’t find much information about this sport in Qatar, we would still like to consider witnessing it some time. Usually the season takes place in October but camel racing events are also held during March and April at Al Shahaniya Camel Racetrack.
Try any of the Water Sports Available
With so many selections to choose from in terms of the water sports available in Qatar, we hope to try at least a few of them when the weather gets a little better. Plus I (Karen) believe it is time to get over my fear of the open water! Some of the places that offer water sports are Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Diplomatic Club & Katara Beach.
East-West / West-East
Unveiled two years ago, we have yet to drive over at Brouq nature reserve to marvel at the East-West / West-East Sculpture in the Desert by Richard Serra.
Visit the Fire Station
Yes, visit the Fire Station! Why? Well because it has since been renovated to house artworks by different artists plus we read in a recent article on Doha News that there is a new food truck situated there called Cafe #999.
Do let us know of anything else you think we might have missed out on or need to check out 🙂
