A Spicy Kick from Sabai Thai’s Business Lunch

As I have always said, business lunches are such a practical way of testing out a new restaurant without dropping a fortune which makes me such a huge fan of the concept. Though some restaurants only extend this option during weekdays, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Sabai Thai, which is located at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, serves their business lunch not only on weekdays but on Saturdays too! If you didn’t gather from the name, Sabai Thai is The Westin’s offering of Thai cuisine to the public. I believe their business lunch is from 12.30PM to 3PM  (but don’t quote me on that) every Saturday – Thursday. The price is QAR 99/head which is inclusive of an appetizer, main course, dessert and tea / coffee / water / soft drinks. What a deal!

A few weeks ago, I dragged my sister and mom to join me for a Saturday lunch date right after they returned from their vacation since I didn’t have anything for them to eat at home (I know, I’m a bad sibling / daughter) but this was such a great excuse to dine out & test Sabai Thai’s food.

Honestly, I was hesitant at first to take them here since I heard from a colleague that their food isn’t the best but that didn’t deter me & I decided to push through with the plan. I was pretty much satisfied with what I had and my mom & sis thoroughly enjoyed their lunch as well which means you can’t believe everything you hear. The trademark of Thai cuisine is the spiciness of their dishes and this outlet was no exception. We were sweating after finishing our food! Even though the spice level was intense, that didn’t overpower the individual flavor of the dishes we ordered. We could still distinguish the taste of each dish and the desserts, which were served last, aided in cooling our palates. It was a great ending to a delightful lunch.

I have to commend the staff as well for the very swift service and for being attentive to their guests. I would recommend this outlet to anyone and would rate them a 4 Stars (4 / 5). Not a perfect score because I want more options added to the business lunch. 🙂
