I believe I have bombarded you with back to back travel posts which you might have hated me for so instead of adding more fuel to the fire, why don’t we take a break and talk about food for a second?
Last night, Allyson & I along with our friends went to the grand opening of Carluccio’s at Doha Festival City. Carluccio’s is not new to the scene however you might be surprised to find out that it was my first time to dine there. I previously heard good things from Allyson as she is a fan of their pastas and I am not shocked at all since I was truly amazed with all the flavors I tasted last night from the dishes they served us.
The casual food tasting event started when the host, Rachel from Life on the Wedge, invited everyone to take a plate of their own & select some canapés from a huge spread displayed in the middle of the outlet on a long marble table. After this, everything listed on the menu slowly came in and the dishes were served to our table. We started with some Tomato & Pesto Bread, Chicken Caesar Salad & Prawn Marinara for appetizers. I loved the Prawn Marinara along with the pesto since both were really simple but remarkably flavorful.
Next came the main courses which included the Seafood Skewer, Chicken Milanese & Pasta Fritta. Among the 3 dishes my absolute favorite would have to be the Chicken Milanese since the chicken was so tender & moist plus it was so crispy to bite. The Seafood Skewer comes in close second. The risotto that accompanied the skewer was lovely but the chicken won me over as it appealed to my taste buds more.
Last but not the least were the desserts, Salted Caramel Panna Cotta, Passionfruit Meringue & Chocolate Brownie. Highly recommend for you to order the Chocolate Brownie as I found the panna cotta to be overly sweet and the meringue too sour. Unless you love sour food or have a sweet tooth, I’d say stick to the brownie albeit ours melted as we had to take a lot of snaps for our socials. 🙂
Without a shadow of a doubt, I would suggest everyone to give this outlet a try especially if you are looking for a family friendly & casual environment to dine at without sacrificing food quality.
